My computer has gone crazy, and I cant use it, so i am sending this from an internet cafe.
Basically, it starts up, wont let me either open in safe mode to system restore, wont let me press[del] to enter start up mode.

Suggestions pls, I presume I need a boot disk, can I get one save it on CD and use it that way ??

All suggestions welcome, as I am stuck!!!

Thanks!

Hi puertorico, welcome to BC!

A little clarification, when you say

wont let me press[del] to enter start up mode

do you mean that you can't enter the system BIOS utility (the thing that comes up before Windows) or that you can't get to the boot menu (where things like "Safe Mode" and "Last Known Good Configuration" are shown) by pressing F8 before Windows loads?

If you have your Windows XP installation CD, then that's all we'll really need to fix this. If not, then there are some alternatives we can discuss.

Post back soon!

A lot more detail called for, I think.

Does the system boot at all? Does it boot to the point where you can try to enter the BIOS?

Any error message, verbatim, please?

Do you get a black screen or what actually happens when you push the power button?

Louis

The computer, starts up the windows xp program, then crashes, starts up again and repeats over and over.
You cannot enter F8 to open in safe mode, you cannot enter BIOS system.

No error message is given, just crashes as soon as it opens!

Okay, so when you power on the computer, how far do you get before it crashes? Can you log on or does it crash while this screen is up:
