Hello all,

first of all, the control panel is missing from the start menu. If I try to access the display properties, or system properties, I get a message that says "the operation cannot be completed due to restrictions on this computer, contact your administrator" I have run superantispyware, smitfraudfix, and Kapersky antivirus, combofix, ad-aware, and I still get the same message. I am at a loss so I'm going to try the Hijackthis program and post the log. Maybe someone can understand this problem better than me.

Sorry I posted this is the wrong topic. I'll try to be more careful. This is my first time posting. I'm not sure how to post a link on my entry in the other topic to this one.

Thanks,
Ken

Hi kenspc and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!

Please download FixWareout from one of these mirrors:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
Then you will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt)

After posting report.txt,Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
