When I got this computer, it didn't come with Genuine Office. So when i tried to download the japanese language IME, it said because of this, i can't download the language pack. Is there ANY way of getting it without having to shell out a couple hundred bucks for Genuine Office XP? Are their any other programs that enable me to read and type in Japanese?

As per the forum rules:

No subject matter will be allowed whose purpose is to defeat existing copyright or security measures. If a user persists and/or the activity is obviously illegal the staff reserves the right to remove such content and/or ban the user.

So I'm sorry, but if you are running non-genuine software we can't help you.

Why don't you look into Open Office. It's similar to Microsoft Office but it's free.
