Need Help Getting Rid Of Sch16.gif

I am running windows 2000 and was recently hit with some type of virus that would not let me open anything that used internet explorer or windows explorer but was able to use windows update to fix my problem but my only problem now is my computer is finding a virus in a file called sch16.gif and won't delete it it is in my temp file and i tried to go in and delete but everytime i delete it it comes back

What program is telling you that this file is malware?
What security programs do you have?

Here are links to two good programs to scan your computer with.
Install Super Antispyware free. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

What virus infection did you just remove?

Anytime you come across a suspicious file or one you cannot find any information on, submit the file to jotti's virusscan or virustotal.com. In the "File to upload & scan" box, browse to the location of the suspicious file and submit (upload) it for scanning/analysis.
