I need a little help/info from you, if you would please. I have been playing online on Battlefield 2142 for since it came out last year. It seems like I can play the came fine for a few months, then all the sudden the network latency in the game starts to spike. Last time this happened, my ingame latency would go from 50 or 60, to 2000 all the sudden. Then it stopped doing that for awhile, and I could play just fine. Now, just tonight, it started spiking again. I understand that latency is part of my ISP's control, but I don't understand why it would suddenly spike so high. Can anyone help me with this please?

I have a cable modem and linksys wireless n router,

it seems to be every server I play on,

I don't play many other online games, though I did go to Speedtest.net at various times, and I always get similar readings.
The highest latency I've had since 8/18/07 is 109ms, the lowest is 70ms.
The fastest and slowest downloads were 1849kb/s and 679kd/s
The fastest and slowest uploads were 203kb/s and 227kb/s.

I have my AV and malware scanners setup to scan/update at 3 or 4 am, when I'm sleeping. Windows is set to ask me to update for just this reason. (That way, when I stop the game, I can go ahead and update, I don't just never update my comp like some people I know do.)

Sorry for the long time between posting, I haven't had time time to be on lately doing my own stuff. I've been helping a friend who has been having some problems of his own.
