I am having some problems with my computer again: Symptoms seem strikingly similar to an infection we removed some time ago

The system has slowed to a crawl. No amount of adaware or spybot or AVG or SFCs seem to do any good. Simple commands can take up to a minute to execute. Then a few days ago, while shutting down, one of those screens XP gives you while involuntarily shutting down running applications (like the NView one which never seems to close by itself) appeared with a mysterious "DO NOT SHOW THIS SCREEN" on it.

And FireFox wont update itself. To get it to update to the 2.0.0.7 I had to go into safe mode, - and it now wont update itself to 2.0.0.8. This morning while re-opening FF after its failed update, the computer mysteriously tried to start the XP mini applet which lets you log into Exchange Server remotely.

Then when I tried to get into your site to see if any one else had had this VX9485.exe appear on their system, I found the browser trying to log into something called SweepStake monitor to send them some type of information. I think Adaware noticed it as well and it was the program which probably stopped it from opening the browser tab!

Meanwhile HijackThis was still finding some reference in my registry to this VF9485.exe file. When I tried to delete it in HijackThis, Spybot told me that it was denying my change based on something in my black list! I can however find no reference to this file in a search in Regedt32: So possibly HijackThis DID remove it along with the .exe file which I now cant find in my system32 directory. In any event, I closed Spybot down and ran HijackThis again and this time it DID get rid of the VF9485.exe enry which still seems to be either dissociated with any malware or whose malware is/was cleverly covering up its existence.

So here is my most recent log, suitably updated: Can anyone see anything obvious in it please?
