I have Windows XP - no malware, no virus - yet 50% of the times I bring my PC out of standby it will completely lockup, usually when I use the internet. Other times, if I use another appication, it simply hangs and locks up. I then have to reboot. I only have java and shockwave flash in my add-ins. The Eventviewer tells me that it occurs when another appication is still using the registry, so I investigated and downloaded UPHClean from Microsoft. This is supposed to unload the User Profiles. I have also changed to using 'hibernate', but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I've found that most issues with standby/hibernation can usually be resolved by updating your video drivers. No guarantee's - but it's worth a shot!
