Acer Al1916w Wide Screen Lcd Monitor Resolution

Recently I bought a acer 1916w lcd wide screen monitor.In it's instruction book it has asked to set the screen resolution to1400x900 but in my display properties box i have maximum 1280x1024 resolution.the installation cd with monitor has no driver.I am giving here the device manager configuration for display and monitor setting.i am using window xp pro(sp2),amd athlon™XP 2000+ 1.66GHz processor with 352 ram and A7V266MX asus mother board.

Are you sure the installation CD doesn't have a driver? That would seem to be what it's for. Anyway, Acer specify this link for your driver:

Download and unzip to a folder, then in Monitor Properties, choose to Update Driver and point it to where the files are.

yeh I am sure it is not given in the cd given with the monitor. I tried to update the driver with the source you have given but it is not taking it.

Don't forget to upgrade the onboard/video card driver also. I just got done doing this to my wife's computer. I used SIW and selected monitors. It gave me the recommended settings for my LCD. Found out I had the Hz's wrong and that's why her puzzle game wouldn't work

Your VIA/SG3 UniChrome IGP (KM400, KN400) should support 1400 x 900 output resolution. However, the problem is that because it is on-board graphics the BIOS also needs to support this resolution. What BIOS do you have.
