Cd-rom Not Recognized

The users computer cd rom drive was working yesterday but failed today...it will not not spin but is getting power. The cd-drive is not showing up under device manager...the also there is no option to boot from cd as the system BIOS does not see the drive...next option please.

Double check the power connector if all is ok there. Try a known working model to assure there isn't a problem with the IDE controller. If the good drive works then the Cd-rom is bad replace as needed.

will give it a try...thanks this is my first couple days on a IT Help Desk so I'm sure I will be asking for help again in the future will let you know how this one goes...
