Hello,
I keep getting a popup, probably a fake Windows Security Alert, that says "Warning! Potential Spyware Operation! Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now to pervent any unathorised access to your files! Click yes to download spyware remover..."

I have also lost my control panel and Google is now my default home page. I have done everything on the preparation guide before posting except McAfee Stinger and Windows Update because I get the response "Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get updates". Panda found a couple viruses and disinfected them. My Norton also found Trojan.KillAv and "partially removed" it. Computer also has been running very slow, including Startup and shutdown. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my Hijack this log:

Hi suzinsc and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Ok, this is my report from BitDefender. When I ran the first scan, it stalled and said "Not Responding" but it had found 3 viruses and deleted them at that point. However, I couldn't save the report. I ran the scan again and nothing was found. Computer is running much better..no more popups and I have my control panel back!
Here is the 2nd report from BitDefender:

Ok, I got the latest version of Java and QuickTime and my PC seems to be running fine today!!! I still wish it was a little faster and my Startup takes a long time but I probably have too many programs in there.
Was it a virus that caused all the problems and do you think that the security of my computer was compromised? I think the problems began on Monday night. I just wondered if I should change any passwords or anything.
Thanks so much.

I think anytime you run into malware, you should change all your logon names and passwords

Have a look here:

The bolded out ones are the only ones I am sure you need at startup, the bellsouth blsloader entry I am unsure about.

Do you know how to use msconfig to disable startup items?

Yes, I can use msconfig to disable some startup items. I will look at those, although I'm always a little unsure if I should disable something or not. I can always put it back in though, right?

Also, my Norton Internet Security tells me I have a phishing protection error but when I let them try to fix it, I get an error. It is really important to have that turned on? If so, should I uninstall and reinstall Norton?

You have been such a great help!!!!
