I was guided to your community by... of all things, a tech support specialist from McAfee. I paid for online tech support and the technician determined that my problem was beyond the scope of his service -so he emailed me a link to a page on your site dealing with hijacked systems. The instructions your community site led to a satisfactory solution and I am very greatful.

Hello RC2005 and welcome to Bleeping Computer! We are very happy you've joined us. I'm thrilled that a tech at McAfee suggested us, I think that says a lot whether we like their antivirus or not. Some do, some don't. Regardless, I'm glad you're here. Feel free to browse our tutorials and roam through our community. I'm sure you'll find a lot that will appeal to you. I am such a firm believer in the HijackThis program that I tell everyone that no computer should be without it. I even have the download link in my signature.
Make yourself at home and let us know if we can be of assistance.

Grinler works tirelessly at the eradication of malware.
Analyzing new infections & their methods of muckin' up machines.
Communicating with a great many other folk doin' the same.
They in turn also spread the word(s) about techniques
and methods and tools & applications to use.

It is no surprise that professionals in the business of providing
support to PC owners using their products would be aware of the
efforts goin' on daily here.

In fact we need the tools and expertise of those companies
and products to keep our PC's workin' and the definitions
of problems updated. The data & experience they are in a position
to provide us with, and the personnel like the one you met's advice,
helps to further refine the effective counter-strike to the online threats
we live with.

It is worth mentioning that the bottomline is "customer satisfaction".
After all, you and I have invested time and money to be able
to use our computers to some kind of advantage. We are happy
to use & share what we learn... as long as we can or feel motivated to.

Thanks, RC2005, for being your experience to our attention.
