I'm using windows XP Service Pack 2.I connect to the internet through dial up connection. When I get connect to the internet the taskbar of my computer hangs. when the taskbar hangs the icons appear on the desktop and i can run them but i can't open start menu and also the programs in the system tray. Thanks

Can you access the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools prior to the TaskBar hanging? If you cannot access the Start menu can you go into Safe Mode and access it? When you find an error message in the Event Viewer double click on it. Post the results here for review.
