Hello all took me a while to find the into thread.

Just a bit about myself. On the web I go as tuxmaster, I also sometimes go as firekool if that is taken.

I am a A + Certified tech working in tech support for a large computer manufacture.

I originally saw this site while searching problems on google. Decided to join recently because I thought It might be nice to help out in some of the other forums.

My Experience is Windows Operating systems (Blue Screens in particular). Linux Web Server administration and DOS. I am currently on the last stretch of my training at GeekU.

Not too much of a programmer but that may change.

Yes Rosty I am staff there on the tech team only. That is until I finish my GeekU training.

Hi tuxmaster,

I am new to forums & am not quite sure how to use them but I was having a terrible problem with not being able to download or install updates in Windows. I looked around & found your answer to another subscriber. You gave three steps to try, I tried the first 2 & neither worked but Step 3 did. I am so very grateful to you, thank you so much. I got no satisfaction from the Microsoft site. I came back to try to find you & your response to Updates do not install after a repair of XP so that I could keep your help ideas in case that happens to me again but I couldn't find it. Once again thank you so very much.
