Ayup - cool idea. Deja vu of the 50's - the Taylor Aerocar.

One ding in a mall parking lot and someone dies in the air or on the ground.
The only easy day was yesterday.

...some do, some don't; some will, some won't (WR)

Naturally they won't suit everybody, however I can see a market for these outside the Large Cities. Here in OZ, many of our outback Sheep and Cattle Stations allready have private airstrips,so I think these would be ideal. Also on Ranches in the US where space is not a problem. Why this Technology laid dormant for nearly 60 yrs, amazes me.Here's a reminder of the Taylor Aerocar of 1949. Same Principal.with modern Technology.

When I was a kid, there was a prototype "aircar" called the Merlin (name was followed by a number but I don't remember it). It was built on hovercraft tech... supposedly capable of making the trip from st. louis, MO to Chicago, IL in under 2 hours...
If you truly live by the sword, it only stands to reason that someone has to die by it.
