I've been infected with a trojan virus that will not go away. I have Symantec Anti-virus software and it removes Downloader files at every startup. I've run Ad-Aware SE and it found win32.trojan.agent. I cleaned it but every time I reboot, the pop-ups return. The pop-up page and message tells me to download winantivirus software. I don't know what to do anymore. I also ran spybot.

Below is the Hijack file. Thanks!

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum mmartinez
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Your version of Sun Java is out of date.
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older versions of Sun Java, and then update.
1. Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
2. Scroll down to where it says 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 update 3'.
3. Click the "Download" button to the right.
4. Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
5. The page will refresh.
6. Click on the link to download 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' and save to your desktop.
7. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
8. Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
9. Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
10. Click the Change/Remove button.
11. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
12. Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
13. Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u3-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.

If you have previously downloaded ComboFix,please delete that version now.
Now download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Now go to:
C:\Program Files\Hijack This\HijackThis.exe
Right click on Hijackthis.exe and select 'Rename', rename it to abc.bat
Double click on abc.bat(which is still Hijackthis.exe),post that log into your next reply please.

I ran Hijackthis and removed the file. I rebooted and ran Hijackthis again, the file is gone. Is there anything else I need to do? Thank you so much!

Another thing I forgot to mention: Internet Explorer browser does not work anymore. When I try to connect using IE, it says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. But Mozilla browser works just fine.

Another thing I forgot to mention: Internet Explorer browser does not work anymore.

Try uninstalling IE7 via Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs, then reboot.
You'll now be reverted back to IE6.

If IE6 does'nt work, and you have the Microsoft Windows XP installation disk.
Click Start>Run,type sfc /scannow into the 'Open:' space, then press OK.
Leave a space in between sfc and /scannow
Reboot when you've done.

If still no joy try this:
Click on Start/Run,copy and paste all the bold text below into the 'Open:' space, then press OK.
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

Let me know how you get on.

I removed Internet Explorer 7 and rebooted. IE6 still does not work. Unfortunately I don't have the Windows XP installation disk, so I could not perform the other steps.

Lets try this:
First create a new System Restore point.
Click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
In the 'System Restore' window, click on the 'Create a Restore Point' button, then click 'Next'.
In the window that appears, enter a description\name for the Restore Point, then click on 'Create',wait, then click 'Close'.
The date and time will be created automatically.

Now back up the registry by doing the following.
Click on Start>Run,copy and paste the following bold text into the 'Open:' space, then press Ok.
regedit /e c:\registrybackup.reg
It won't appear to be doing anything, that's normal.
Your mouse pointer may have an hour glass along side it for a minute or so.
Please be patient and continue when the hour glass disappears.

Click on the Start/Run,type regedit then press OK.
Navigate to and double click on the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
Under that key you will see a entry named IsInstalled, right click on that entry and left click on Modify.
Change the Value from 1 to 0 then click on OK.
Exit regedit.

Download/install Internet Explorer 6.0 (76.7 MB):
http://compnetworking.about.com/gi/dynamic....php%3Fn%3Dmsie

If XP won't allow you to install the above, you'll have to change the value of IsInstalled from 0 back to 1

Try downloading/reinstalling IE7:

I followed your steps and downloaded IE6 without a problem. Then I downloaded and installed IE7. At the end of installation, it said that setup could not be completed because windows updates could not be installed. I rebooted and tried using IE7 and it says the same: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I tried Tools/Windows Update and it does not work.
