You sure can learn alot here, from reading the tutorials (many of which discuss security ) to the forums where you can learn from other's problems, BC is a very good resource for information.
Before posting your HijackThis! log, be sure to run your resident anti-virus, and use both Ad-AwareSE and Spybot; these will do a lot to clean up your computer before you post a log.

We hope you do make it a point to use the site, grandycook

It's easier to enjoy the features of this discusssion board
when you're not stressed out by the PC in limbo
between working good and being obnoxious is it's behavior.

Theres a lot to be gained when you can click on
forums and read about things of interest at a leisurely pace.
Ask questions or answer those of others.
Take in information you can use to better understand
what it is you like to do with your PC ... at your own pace.

Get to know your PC as particular hardware that
uses a particular version of windows OS and
has particular software - programs and applications all
which can run very well when it's understood & set right
to do what YOU want it to.
patiently patrolling, plenty of persisant pests n' problems ...
