A good place to start is the Tab above this page called Startup List. This will tell you whether something is optional, definitely unneeded, or absolutely needed. If you have specific questions after looking there, list the items and our Members can advise you.
Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.

If you have many software loading during startup, this will make the startup very slow, you PC/NB will take too long time to actually start. This can be "adjusted" in msconfig.

Go to start and in "start search" type msconfig. This will give you a new window. Go to the "start up" tab and check all the programs that actuall run during startup, you can check and leave only the ones you want to start, by checking and unchecking them.

Now if you wanna get rid of this software you have to go to control pannel and deinstall them.

Start> control panel> left side of the window of control pannel click on "Classic View" and look for "Programs and Features" and unistall the software you dont want in your PC/NB.

Hope it helps
