I have a new HP Pavilion dv9000 CTO Notebook and I love it...BUT I'd REALLY REALLY like to be able to turn off the annoying beeping sound that happens everytime you press the media buttons above the keyboard. It's a really high-pitched chirp sound. I've heard rumors that you can fix it with BIOS but I don't know how to do that...I've also heard that it's very complicated.

Any ideas?

Have you looked for the settings in your keyboard in the Control panel? Or maybe, you might find those sound controls in your Control Panel-Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. Look for the Sounds tab and scroll through it. I can contain more than just the Windows sound settings. I have one software program that put a couple of its sound settings there. If you find them, change each to "none" and then save it.
