Hi all! I really appreciate any help you guys could give me. My problem is my computer shuts down unexpectadly every hour on the hour (not to the second, but pretty darn close. I think within 20 seconds). I have a Velocity Micro Core 2 Duo/2gb RAM/300 GB hard drive and I got it only 2 months ago. I have Mcafee security suite, adaware, spyware blaster, search & destroy, ccleaner, etc. Ant ideas guys? I did a hijackthis scan, but I don't know how to read it though. Again, thanks for any help!! Mike

Welcome to BC

Are you doing anything specific when it happens, like playing games or just normal surfing? Does it shut completely off and you have to turn it back on, or do you mean it reboots? Does the screen go blank or are there any error messages?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Mark,
Thx for the reply. It just reboots. It turns off, and then reboots to the sign in screen. No error messages at all. It does it wheather I'm surfing internet or not working on it at all. I don't think it's a heat thing because it does it so consistently on the hour. Maybe malware? I've googled it and didn't find much info. Soooo frustrated with this computer.

I think I figured it out for the time being. I noticed in event viewer that Mcafee was the last process that ran before reboot. I uninstalled & reinstalled, and it's not rebooting on its own anymore. Thanks anyway for the help.
