First and foremost,
I understand that there is a rule. One problem one post.
So here goes.

Sometimes when I turn on my computer after it has booted my screen resolution is quiet large.
I have been told not to make my resolution smaller because it might do some damage. But I don't know whether thats true or not.

Also I have found that if i restart my computer when this has happened it will happen again and again until I actually shut down then start up again.

My questions are: What could this be & how can I fix it?
Also, I haven't heard of a virus that can do this, but could it be one?

Help from anyone would be appreciated.
And knowing that someone else goes through this wold be even better.

Thank you for your time :D

If the screen resolution is your only problem, then I'd suggest updating your video drivers (from the manufacturer of the video chipset (nVidia, ATI, Intel, etc) not from the manufacturer of your system. To find out what kind of video card you have, go to Start...Run...and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then click on the + sign next to "Display Adapter" and tell us what it says.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Tarra>>

"NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/Mx 400" is that your graphics card? If so head over the Nvida's website, look for your model of graphics card and download the appropiate drivers.

Hope that helps!!

BTW, "Your pretty face is going to hell", thats an iggy pop isn't it? :flowers:

-Tarra-,

I see you have an open HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum.
You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.
At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

I'm closing this topic until you are cleared by the HJT Team.
If, after your log has been cleaned, you still need help, please PM a Moderator and we will re-open this topic.
