I hate using Internet Explorer because it is so much more vulnerable to infection, so I try to do all my browsing using Firefox, with NoScript. However, sometimes I have to view an IE site in Firefox. When I do that, do I lose the safety of Firefox? Unfortunately, not all sites operate properly in Firefox. Oftentimes, the sites that require IE are the very ones that require entry of the information that I most want to protect.

Are you using the IE TAB addon for FireFox?

When you are viewing a page in IE, you are viewing a page in IE using its programme and engine. Whether Firefox is launched or not would have no bearing.

Yes, I am using the ie tab in Firefox when I need to use IE. However, per John's response, it looks like it doesn't matter-- that I have to use IE when the site will not operate with Firefox. What a shame! Thanks all for the responses.
