Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to post my introduction, hope this works. If not, sorry!

Just retired, 59 years old. Worked for the post office for 30+ years, glad to be gone from there.
old joke: 2nd most favorite place in the world: the Post Office. Everything else is tied for first place! But enough of the sophomoric humor....

Just got the computer about this time last year, self taught (Oh, God, help us! Yet another person with a teacher who doesn't know the subject material!). Although I know a lot more than when I started out, I still run into a lot of Homer Simpson moments. (doh!)
When I go to the techno websites, it's like taking a bus in France (don't know what they're saying and nobody there gives enough of a crap to care). Hope to 'get enlightened' here, in a language I understand. Sometimes common sense rules the day, but it doesn't seem to often enough when it comes to this new fangled stuff. I can be like a mule (first you have to hit him in the head with a 2x4 to get his attention), often have trouble seeing the forest for the trees, but I'm trying!

Ubergeeks assume that everyone else knows exactly what they're saying. When they encounter someone that doesn't, it triggers a system failure. Hopefully, you'll have better luck here.
