My computer recently became infected with "wmiprvse.exe" that was cought (and suppressed?) by Zone Alarm Suite. Anyway after the first format it was still present. So with the second format I flashed the Bios as well. I do have two drives on this pc and both formated.

My question is when you right-click>properties I was under the impression that the creation date of the file is never going to change, and if it was, this was a sign of a virus etc... So with the current above cirumstance my wmiprvse.exe file has a creation date of 2007, modified date of 2002, and accessed on 2007. Does this mean there is still a problem? How can the system create a file in 2007 and modify it in 2002. Thanks in advance!

You can submit the file to Jotti and they will scan it with multiple antivirus programs.

I looked around on the web for a malware program that has used that file name. Did not find one.

Thats a great site.

Does anyone know about the creation and modification dates of files having odd differences?
