Hello guys,

Got infected with Smitfraud and maybe other malware. False security alerts pop-up, and red screen-saver with biological hazard sign saying something like ' your computer is infected'.

Tried Ad-aware and spybot as you suggested, but the malware keep coming back after restart the PC.

Also now when browsing the web, some of the pictures within the website can not be seen ?? :thumbsup:

Hope you can help!

My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Download SDFix.exe and save it to your desktop:
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

* Double click on SDFix on your desktop,and install the fix to C:\

Please then reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
* Choose your usual account.

* In Safe Mode,go to and open the C:\SDFix folder,then double click on RunThis.bat to start the script.
* Type Y to begin the script.
* It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
* Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
* Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
* When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
* Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt into your next reply.

Note:
If you have previously downloaded ComboFix,please delete that version and download it again from below.
Download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Hi RichieUK,

Followed your instructions to run the SDFix on C:\. Then my Ashampoo Antispyware2 pop-up a warning advise no to install the file, saying:

Infection: Riskware.RiskTool.Win32.Processor.20
File: SDFix.exe

I have tried re-install the SDFix, but the same warning pop-up came up when I run the program. What should I do?

http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal...toring_Programs

Download\install 'SuperAntiSpyware Home Edition Free Version' from here:
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfi...ANTISPYWAREFREE

Launch SuperAntiSpyware and click on 'Check for updates'.
Once the updates have been installed,exit SuperAntiSpyware.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://kl.bar.need2find.com/KL/menusearch.html?p=KL

The PC is running ok. No problem so far since the repair. Thank you for looking at the logs. If I am to switch on an antimalware programme, which one do you recommend?

If I am to switch on an antimalware programme, which one do you recommend?

Enable both Adaware's Ad-Watch and Ashampoo AntiSpyWare 2,uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware now if you wish,although it should run fine with both the latter programs.
