Ntfs Or Fat?

I have an External Hard Drive but I don't know what file system to format it as.


Which is the best to use with Vista Home Premium, use as backups, use for standard use?

ntfs is better, especially with partitions over 32 gigs in size, however windows 98 and me can't see ntfs
