Back in 1998, the Congress actually did something good for Americans: they passed a law that prevented local and state governments from taxing internet connection services like dial-up and broadband connections.
They extended the ban in 2004 until November 1 of this year.So, unless Congress acts soon, Americans can expect to see their internet bills increasing by as much as 17%


Call your Congress Person, people!
