Last night I couldn't shut the computer down normally and had to shut it off at power source.

Today I tried to open an ebook I had downloaded to Adobe reader and it is listed there but when I try to open it, I get a message saying the files couldn't be found. Can I recover it? Please help, not technically adept, I'm afraid.
Thanks, Dee

Is there only one file affected?

If so, I would consider it lost and download it again.

You might check Event Viewer to see what errors are posted for your system...whatever caused the need for a hard shutoff...probably did some harm or was an indication that the system needs attention.
