I've had this virus / malware, whatever it is, for about a week. New IE tabs keep opening up for any number of topics; Love connection, buy this, buy that, virus tools, etc. We have F-Secure installed on our laptops (business computers). I ran a full scan today and it found 5 virus's and 2 spyware. It says it deleted all but 1 thing and it wouldn't let me open the log to see what that one thing is.
(I'm still trying to do that)

F-Secure will tell me there is a virus and give me the option to "delete", "quarentine" or "do nothing". I delete it and it tells me that it couldn't get rid of all of it and to run it again. I'll run it again and it will tell me it's OK. Then sometime in the next few hours it's back. I've seen it say Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Small.ftt and Win32.Tiny??? and something else I didn't write down.

I've run Adaware, Spybot and CWShredder daily for the past 3-4 days and it's still there.

Please help me or send me some cyanide.

Thanks

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop. DO NOT use yet.
Please download, install and update AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5. DO NOT perform a scan yet.
Be sure to print out the AVG Anti-Spyware Install-Scan Instructions.

Reboot your computer in SAFE MODE" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
  • If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
  • Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".

Scan with AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 per the "Safe Mode" instructions you printed out and reboot normally.

Download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free
  • Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
  • An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
  • If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and unzip into the program's folder.)
  • Reboot in "SAFE MODE using the F8 method and launch SUPERAntispyware.
  • In the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
  • There are three scanning options. Choose "Perform Complete Scan" and click "Next".
  • After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
  • Make sure they all have a checkmark next to them and click "Next".
  • A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
  • Select close to exit the program and reboot normally.
