I have been having problems with my CD-ROM that was installed when I bought my computer. My computer is a Demension 8100 series. I removed my Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616 which the drawer would open and close often. I did several virus scans and found nothing. I purchased a Samsung CD-Master 48e CD-ROM SC-148 (Dell D2550). I have it installed and my system won't recognize it. When I purchased it new on e-bay it said that it fits any system with a 5.25 bay. How can I get it installed on my system??
Thank you for any help........
Have a great day,

Are you using the same ribbon cable that's attached to your hard drive? If yes, the drive should be on the 2nd connector and the jumper in the back should be on slave. If you're ugind the 2nd IDE plug, by itself the drive should be on the end of the ribbon cable and the jumper set to master

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
