When I click my pictures icon, it takes my pictures folder a full minute to a minute and a half to come up on my desktop and I don't even have that many pictures in my folder!

Is it just your "My Pictures" folder that this happens on, or does it happen to other folders such as "My Music", or "My Documents"

When was the last time you defragged your hard drive?
Cheers,

There may be an unknown file in you "My Pictures" folder. Also defragmenting your local disk isn't enoguh. Do a error check. (Right click on drive then click scan disk.)
