I am having this error on my backup server, it is just a winxp pro machine with a bigger hard drive.

\\Server\backup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the adminstrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.

All I need to do is to restart the pc and the connection is back again. Sometime it is ok for a week or 2 then it will come back again then have to restart again....

Any idea?

The registry would be my first guess. If you can clean and defrag the registry, you may find the problem. A more likely fix, I think, would be in the memory. Do you have any unwanted programs running in the background? Malware, even?
