Selling on ebay is fine because you don't part with the goods before you get the money.

Buying is another totally different matter. Last time I bought and got a duff item there was absolutely no protection whatsoever. Ebay dodged the claim and Paypal hid behind their rules to say that they only handled the money and therefore weren't responsible. The trader cheated me, took money for insurance and didn't have any and nobody would/could do anything about it. I would NEVER buy off ebay again.

Living in a remote area, the Internet is a lifeline for me, particularly for the bigger items. Researching the product, then once I have decided, researching again for the best price. I've just spent a small fortune on a DSLR camera and lenses and saved a considerable amount even on rock bottom web prices. :flowers:

Choice, price and availability are the cornerstones of Internet buying for me  In some cases it is also possible to research the trader to see what reputation they have. That's turned up some interesting comments in the past. :trumpet:

Well you should always check feedback records for previously sold items by this seller and good transactions first. Or stick to buying from powersellers.

I sell on ebay and would never cheat anyone! But you do have to be careful on ebay. There are a lot of rotten sellers out there.

If you do not buy from ebay anymore where do you buy stuff at? Just wondering.
Thanks

I did order my La Piovra DVD's via the Internet. But only because it was an unbeatable deal AND I could get them and pay at a nearby store. That doesn't count as buying on the Internet, does it huh? I guess I'm just too much of a chicken: I wouldn't ever want to give out my credit card number on-line. Especially now I've read about all those hijackers and phishermen out there in the wild ...

Well, you can make unlimited # of new accounts on ebay, so once one has n a - feed back, you make another.
A tool I use, its an extension for firefox, its called Ebay Negs

Here

Press CTRL+F and type ebay, it shoudl go right to it.

What it does is you can hilight any ebay ursers name, right click and press
open ebay negs or open ebay negs in new tab. And it shows all negative feedback for that user.

I use this lots, because I dont like selling to people who have high negative feedback, beacause I dont think they deserve it, so I cancel thier bids.

I shop online for just about everything, sometimes it is a few times a week and then it might be few times a month. It is so bad that my wife and daughter, which I might add love to shop, send me links to stuff they find that they want.

I have been buting and selling on ebay for several years now and have only been burned once, but like they say just do a little research before buy, don't buy on the fly. :flowers:

I buy on eBay and have never had trouble. I have several times bought stuff from department store sites when I could not find the size/color I wanted. I also use the on-line stores of vendors we get a discount from.
