can't find shell.dll

ever since my last run in with that major pain of a hijacked browser ... I get an error message ... "Can not find Shell.dll" when I try to open one of my graphics programs ... can any one help me?

There should be a shell.dll in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache.

Copy that file to both c:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\system and see if that fixes it.
