I have a Dell OEM version of Windows ME, and I want to install it on Virtual PC 2007, but it insists that it isn't a Dell PC, and that installation will quit, how do I make Virtual PC a Dell PC?

Unfortunately, if the software on the disk is only licensed for the Dell, while it may be possible to do so, it is against the terms of the license to install it as a VPC image on any other PC.

The host PC is a Dell which I upgraded to XP, but some of my programs don't work with XP, so I am installing the original ME in a virtual machine.

You'd be on "interesting" legal ground I'm afraid.
