Hi guys - below is the log from the computer. Boys are into this "My Space" stuff lately - Again!!! - and Re-starts seem to be taking an eternity. Sounds like the "drive" is always running. I hit CTRL/ALT/DELETE and nothing appears to be running. Ran anti-spy ware, removed the few things I had - nothing serious - and still - SLOWWWW on the restart.

Log is below should any of you folks see anything unusual -

Best / Jim

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum JimB
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Your version of Sun Java is out of date.
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older versions of Sun Java, and then update.
1. Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
2. Scroll down to where it says 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2'.
3. Click the "Download" button to the right.
4. Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
5. The page will refresh.
6. Click on the link to download 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' and save to your desktop.
7. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
8. Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
9. Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
10. Click the Change/Remove button.
11. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
12. Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
13. Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u2-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.

*NOTE*
If you have previously downloaded ComboFix,please delete that version and download it again from below.

Download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Hi Richie - Made it to step 9, no problem - deleted one of the Java files. One other remained - SE V1.4.2
When I attempted to delete - got this "warning" (top line reads - The feauture you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"

Line 2 says click OK to try again (when I do, nothing happens), or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "java 2 Runtime environment, SE v1.4.2 msi" in the box below

Box below (line 3) says Use Source - in the white box is currently - C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Setting

Hit the drop down - the number "1" is in there...

OK Richie - I restarted - still sloooooooooooooooooooooooow - went ahead and "Ran" the new downloaded Java. It's installed. Did not previously download Combofix.

Here's the latest log, and I hope I didn't screw-up by running the new version, with the v1.4.2 still "undeleted" -

Here you are my friend. I am assuming the quarantined log (should you need it) is on my C: drive - as it didn't automatically pop-up like this log did. Here it is..

Thanks in advance...

Well, it might not be until 5 pm EST after all - I am having difficulty finding Spybot to turn it off. It's not on my desktop and I do not see when I hit START then ALL PROGRAMS...

Any idea how to locate this - so I can open to disable... ?

Click on Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and remove/uninstall Spybot Search and Destroy if present, then restart your pc.
Then carry on with the rest of the instructions Jim.
