Error Message At Start Up.

So, when I boot my comp, after the BLACK windows loading screen, i get a gray message box that reads:


The Application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfc.dll is not a valid Windows Image.


after you click "ok" windows boots normaly. But if you dont click ok it will just sit there at that screen.

I searched for that file and FOUND it but it wont let me delete it.

PLS help!

sfc.dll is a Windows system file, which may have become corrupted.

You could try deleting it in Safe Mode and downloading a fresh copy from here.

If that doesn't work try running the System File Checker (SFC) to see if that will replace the file.

And if that doesn't work you could try a repair install of XP.

Also, try these free, online scans to check the status of your system:
