Hello all!

First I want to say hello to everybody here, this is my firt post!!

I have a big issue on my laptop running windows vista, and I still did not solve it completely..

Sometimes my lap runs errorfree for weeks, and then suddently the problem reappears, and I get annoying error messages each time I turn my pc on!

So the problem is linked to svchost.exe!

Normally I get an error like this one: Service .... has stopped from working correctly. Then if I click on "more details" I see that normaly the two services causing problems are: svchost.exe_gpsvc and svchost.exe_ProfSvc

Both of them report an error linked with imon.dll

Here the details (sorry it's in Italian)

Nome evento problema: APPCRASH
Nome applicazione: svchost.exe_gpsvc
Versione applicazione: 6.0.6000.16386
Timestamp applicazione: 4549adc4
Nome modulo con errori: imon.dll
Versione modulo con errori: 2.70.31.0
Timestamp modulo con errori: 45ba03fa
Codice eccezione: c0000005
Offset eccezione: 00004550
Versione SO: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
ID impostazioni locali: 1040

and also:

Nome evento problema: APPCRASH
Nome applicazione: svchost.exe_ProfSvc

Nome modulo con errori: imon.dll

Now I have found your guide on svchost.exe, and I have tried to find out which instance of svchost is running this two services..
Looking up in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SVCHOST I see that they are both in NETSVCS

Then I have searched for imon.dll in the registry and found it twice.. here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\InstalledComponents\NOD32MOD_WINNT_ITALIAN_INET
and here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\Modules\Imon

Now what has Nod to do with svchost? Why do I always get this error..? And HOW can I try to solve it??

Sometimes after I get such an error I have to restart my computer because internet does not work anymore..
Sometimes, together with this two errors I have also a third one:

Nome evento problema: APPCRASH
Nome applicazione: alg.exe
Versione applicazione: 6.0.6000.16386
Timestamp applicazione: 4549b2cd
Nome modulo con errori: ntdll.dll
Versione modulo con errori: 6.0.6000.16386
Timestamp modulo con errori: 4549bdc9
Codice eccezione: c0000005
Offset eccezione: 0003b15f
Versione SO: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
ID impostazioni locali: 1040
Informazioni aggiuntive 1: e487
Ulteriori informazioni 2: 9fca136acecf596062f0fae997fbf06a
Ulteriori informazioni 3: e487
Ulteriori informazioni 4: 9fca136acecf596062f0fae997fbf06a

This one is the worst, because normally when I get this error I can not connect to internet at all!

I don't know if they are all linked together.. I hope to find some help from you all!

Bye, Patrizia
