System Hangs When Installing/uninstalling

Hello there,

I have the following problem, please help me.

It's been a couple of days since this first happend, when i try to install ou unistall some program the install or uninstall hangs and i cannot even end the task on the task manager, if i open the internet explorer it will hang too, them when i end my session or hit restart/shut down the computer beebs once, the install/unistall application ends, the explorer also ends, sometimes i get a sysfader.exe error whe ending/shutting down the system.

Hey there dids39, if you still need help, please post a fresh HijackThis log (make sure you post the entire log), and I will try to help you out.

As for the sysfader.exe error you are receiving, please do the following and let me know if it fixes the problem.

  • Press Windows Flag (Windows Key) + Pause break key. If you don't have the Windows key (most keyboards should have this - right beside the Alt key) just right click on My Computer and click Properties.
  • Go to the 'Advanced' tab
  • Under 'Performance' click on 'Settings'
  • Under the 'Visual Effects' tab uncheck the first four check boxes
  • These 4 boxes are "Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing", "Fade or slide menus into view", "Fade of slide ToolTips into view" and "Fade out menu items after clicking". Please note that if you are running other localizations of Windows XP (for example Windows XP Portugese) you have to find the options that somewhat describe the options mentioned above, since they might not be the first 4 options.
