Generally it is best to have the most up-to-date version of security related software (as long as its a stable, tested release, which this one is) as they will have more support in the future, as well as generally being more reliable and better at catching those nasties from getting onto your system.

, if you look under the Detection and removal of threats
heading you can see the improved detection. Not to mention all the other improvements/bug fixes/added support on that page.
