Hi all. Got one here I could do with some help on. Its an IBM Thinkpad 2651 i series. Bit of a golden oldie but the chap want's it fixed.
When I switch it on it does a memory test then says press F1 to enter bios. I press F1 and it say's 'entering IBM BIOS' but then goes straight to 'can't find NTDLR'.
I cannot boot from the CD or floppy unless the hard drive is removed.
I have downloaded the correct BIOS update from here:

This will not update as it tells me it is the wrong system. It is definatly right.
Someone has suggested removing the onboard battery. I am going to do this now but I'm doubting this will work.
Anyway, any help from you pros would be much appriciated.

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
