IMO, Firefox Portable is strictly a portable application.
If you want to use the Local version of Firefox, you will have to download a copy onto your HD.

Try your question in the Firefox Portable Forum.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.
