My PC loads up an unwanted web site when Windows XP finishes loading. The web site called "youspeltitwrong.com" loads regardless which browser I use as default (IE or Firefox). I have run numerous spyware, adware, antivirus, rootkit, unhacker progs as well as online scans, Trend Micro and others. i have scanned the registry file for key words, searched the start up and processes section of Windows. I have run "Hijack this" and other start up managers. i have deleted all cookies, temp files, prefetch files. have searched for key file extensions such as *.hta & *.js. Have run spyware progs in "safe" mode. I can't even remember everything i've done so far!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PS This is not a browser home page hijacking. after closing "Youspletitwrong.com" i can load my browser and it brings me to my desired hom page.

-thanks, BC23

By definition a Home Page Hijack hijacks your home page (which is what's been done here). It can be done by spyware, or it can be done by clicking on the wrong thing.

That being said, this post is remarkably similar to your problem: http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=66501

I would suggest that you post a HiJackThis logfile here (after reading the pinned topics): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.
