Hi Bleeping Computer,

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I do my work from home and this is starting to hurt!

I originally had Security Toolbar 7.1 and windows explorer stopping and restarting infections. I believe I removed this by restarting in safemode, opening explorer, deleting files created on the day of infection and running virus scans.

Since then I continue to have browser problems as follows:

IE version 7.0.6 (multiple new tabs keep opening with blank pages or random websites, slow performance)

Firefox version 2.0.0.6 (regularly stops working and closes, slow performance)

Opera 9.23 (really slow performance)

Some sites run okay others are not worth attempting to visit.

So far I have done the following based on this forum:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

Run Ad-Aware (no critical objects found, some privacy objects deleted)
Run Spybot (no threats)
Run Housecall (clean)
Run McAfee Security Center (this is my installed virus, firewall, etc program. I have disabled the windows firewall as I believe this should avoid conflicts. Running a scan removed some cookies)
Run Stringer (clean)

Thank you in advance,
Dave

Hello dmorison,

Our apologies for the delay. If you still need help, please post a new log so I can see if anything has changed.

Please make sure that Word Wrap is turned OFF in Notepad before you copy and paste the HijackThis log here. Take a look at the log you just posted.
