I've had trojans since 2004 on this laptop, I haven't used it much because the battery wouldn't charge. I have finally fixed it but I still have trojan viruses.

I don't know how I got them or when but I know they have never gone away completely. The files multiply with similar names. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum onesweetypie
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Hi Richie thanks for the warm welcome. My name is Jasmine. I appreciate you taking the time to help me with my laptop.

I have followed instructions as you stated but had a problem while running combofix. I don't think it's a problem but I will mention it anyways.

The screen blacked out after 20 minutes and the laptop was REAL hot. I messed around a bit to try to get it to come back but no luck. I thought it was pointless but figured I'd try anyways. I had no choice but to restart, after restarting it asked which mode I wanted to restart in. I chose the last good known configurations. It started up fine and after windows loaded the first thing I saw was combofix still running and working fine. Shortly after my firewalls notified me that "support.com scheduler and command dispatcher" was trying to connect to my laptop. I chose ask me later since I don't know what it was.

Thanks so much for your time!

Here is the C:\ComboFix.txt

Sorry for the late response, I have been busy. Thanks Richie for all your help.

I think everything is well except I saw a folder with a blue font...but every other folder was black. I only happen to see the folder when I was checking a file that AVG found as a "changed" file. Is this normal? I am also having this problem on a desktop of mine except that desktop has several blue font files with black. Other than that the computer is good. AVG hasn't found anything. =]

I have done everything, I just have to finish reading the article.

First double click on the "My Computer" icon, then right click on "Local Disk C:",and select "Properties".
In "Local Disk C: Properties",how much Used space and Free space is showing.
It sounds like you're running low on disk space on your hard drive and XP is using compression to save it.

This could also happen if you have enabled,or inadvertingly enabled compression on those files/folders with the blue font.
If you do not want compression enabled on those files/folders:
Right-click the file/folder.
Select "Properties" from the context menu.
Click the "Advanced" button.
Uncheck "Compress contents to save disk space".
Press Ok.
