Hi Everyone,

I recently contracted a MSN Messenger virus. The type of virus it is, is actually described in the following link.

http://www.uwsp.edu/it/resnet/News/News06-...sengerVirus.htm

I ran AVG, as well as spybot and removed any detected viruses, malware, spyware, trojans, ect.

I finally ran HiJackTHis and I only the removed entries that I was sure, didn't belong. For example, I was pretty sure something labeled "FeedsCornBags" was probably causing more harm than good.

Anyway, I wanted to run the latest Log by you guys to see if you could tell me if there is anything known or suspicious that I should remove.

Hello there and welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is Charles and I will be dealing with your log today. Unforunately, it looks like some infections are still there that need dealing with quickly.
Please download NoLop to your Desktop.
First close any other programs you have running; this will need you to reboot.
Double click NoLop.exe to run it
Now click the button labelled Search and Destroy
<<Your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, click OK.
Now click the REBOOT button.
A message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish. Please post the contents of C:\NoLop.log in your next reply.

Note: If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered", please download mscomctl.ocx to your System32 folder then re-run the program.

So, in your next reply, I would like to see both the Nolop log and a new HijackThis log.
Thanks,
Charles

If you are pleased with the service I have offered, you may like to consider making a donation. Posted Image

Hello again,
I'm so sorry about taking so long to get back to you, but for some reason I did not get email notification that you had replied.
Please print off a copy of these instructions, and also save them to a Notepad file on your desktop, so they are easily accessible.
We are going to boot into Safe Mode later in the fix, and there is no internet access.

Scan again with HijackThis and put a checkmark next to each of the following entries (if present):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
O2 - BHO: HyperBHO - {4B2F5308-2CB0-40E2-8030-59936ED5D22C} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Hyperbar\Hyperbar.d
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: CBHOBJObj Object - {8A406068-D45C-40B9-A096-38AC717FB608} - C:\WINDOWS\BHOBJ.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D80C4E21-C346-4E21-8E64-20746AA20AEB} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {4982D40A-C53B-4615-B15B-B5B5E98D167C} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {5AA06644-BC46-4220-A460-47A6EB47C96D} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gzh] C:\WINDOWS\system32\gzh.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [y] C:\WINDOWS\system32\y.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Two Fast] C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\OWNSCO~1\Axis poke.exe

Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix checked button.

Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
This is done by rebooting Windows and pressing F8 at boot/Windows startup, usually right after the beep.
Then select Safe Mode from the list.
Make sure you choose the option without Networking Support.

Set your system to show all files.
Navigate to Start | My Computer | Tools | Folder Options.
Select the View tab. Under the "Hidden Files and Folders" heading, select "Show hidden files and folders".
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.

Next, please find and delete the following files (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\gzh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\y.exe

And these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Idle Bind Itch Live
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Remotebluefastshow
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sect Dog This Idle
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Owns Corn Bags

Reboot into Normal Mode again.

Then please scan once more with HijackThis and post back the new log in your reply.
Thanks,
Charles
