Hey everyone, Im posting for a friend who has bought a Dell Pc (3 months old) with Vista Home on dial up (adsl is not availible), the problem is the PC dials there isp no probs but will only go to a few sites such as Google.com, if you dom a search it will come back with all the relative hits, but when you click on one the sites will not load. This happens on 9/10 sites they try. The connection will try to update Trend anti-virus but after a short time it will hang and not download the full update.
Things tried; Contacted Dell-no joy: Contacted isp-no joy: Ran virus and anti spyware scan-no probs. Have set IE7 to defults.
The connection worked fine with there old XP machine so the problems started with Vista.......any ideas would be great!

Try disabling the IPHelper service in the services applet (services.msc)
Try disabling IPv6 in the connection's properties
Try disabling the DHCP Broadcast Flag according to this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
