so i decided its time to replace my old 999mhz 512 MAX ram pc

so i orderd parts form newegg.com put together
the comp turns on beeps once and continues running monitor turns on cd rom starts to spin (win xp is in drive) and the comp shuts off wats wrong?

Did you apply thermal compound to the CPU before attaching the heat sink and fan?
