First of all - sorry for this to be my first post :thumbsup:

Im at my wits end with a virus / trojan that I just cant get rid of.

At first I though it was the smitfraud-c thing so followed all the guidance for that uning the special downloads and seems to have helped a bit.

The problem is that whenever I browse the internet this virus will throw up random popups for sites in whatever browser im using (IE or FF). Its also slowing my normal internet speed right down.

Here is the log

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Paulpen :thumbsup:
My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

You have Mcafee and AVG7 installed.
Its definitely not a good idea to have more than one antivirus program installed on your computer.
Each program may interpret the actions of the other as viral, therefore giving you false virus warnings about virus-related activities.
It could also lead to system slowdowns and other problems within the operating system,due to the two conflicting with each other.
You should uninstall one or the other,then restart your pc.

Download SDFix.exe and save it to your desktop:
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

* Double click on SDFix on your desktop,and install the fix to C:\

Please then reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
* Choose your usual account.

* In Safe Mode,go to and open the C:\SDFix folder,then double click on RunThis.bat to start the script.
* Type Y to begin the script.
* It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
* Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
* Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
* When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
* Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt into your next reply.

You’re running msconfig in Auto mode which means that you may have selectively unchecked some items in the past from starting up with Windows.
This can be bad if they’re malware, so please re-enable those startup entries by doing the following:
Click on Start>Run,type msconfig and then press Enter.
When the ‘System Configuration Utility’ opens click on the ‘Startup’ tab,make sure all the boxes are checkmarked.
Then press Apply/Ok to exit the utility.
If it asks you to restart your pc,please don’t,it‘s not necessary at this point.

Download Systemscan and save it to your desktop.
Double-click on Systemscan.exe to run the tool.
A warning box will appear. Please read and click Ok.
When SystemScan opens, click the "Unselect all" button.
Important: under "Make your choice and than click..." check the boxes next to:

PC accounts
Recent files (60 days)
Hidden Objects

Everything else should be unchecked.
Click "Scan Now".
Another warning box will appear. Please follow the instructions and click Ok.
Systemscan will scan your computer and create a folder at C:\suspectfile to save the log files. Please be patient while the scan is in progress.
When the scan is complete, Notepad will automatically open a log file named report.txt.
This log file will show a list of all user accounts, all files/folders created in the last 60 days and any Hidden files that were found.
Copy and paste the contents of report.txt in your next reply.

Also post a new Hijackthis log.

Download Combofix and save to your desktop:
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Do NOT post the ComboFix-quarantined-files.txt unless I ask.

Also post a new Hijackthis log.

Right then

Made sure that all files are unhidden.

Tried to delete those 3 files but only able to delete the first one - the others wont delete as they are protected or something :thumbsup:

Carried out the Fix.reg bit and fixed the ones I was directed to with Hijackthis

Used combo fix and heres the text file

Copy and paste ALL the following blue text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as../Save as Type: 'All Files' /File name: CFScript to your desktop.

Folder::
C:\Program Files\McAfee.com

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
"appinit_dlls"=-

Now drag then drop the CFScript file onto ComboFix.exe as seen in the image below.

This will start ComboFix again.
After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

Let me know how your pc is running now.
