I have a Gateway PC that the warranty just expired a month ago and just like clock work the left button on the mouse broke, I clicked it and it just wont come back up. I took it apart and it can't be fixed. I called Gateway and they said I can't get an exact replacement through them that I should just get one from best buy etc...

The tech support guy couldn't tell me if it will work with the existing wireless receiver that i have, the keyboard is wireless too and they both use the same usb transceiver thing.

Does anyone know if all wireless mice basically communicate on the same frequency and if a new one will work with this same transceiver. The last thing I want is more wires if I have to use the tranceiver that comes with the new one.

Thanks in advance!

If you buy a mouse/keyboard combo, it comes with everything. If you order one from an online dealer like NewEgg scroll through the pictures on the description page. It shows everything that comes in the box

My experience with wireless is the store I went to offered to show me it worked. All I had to do is tell the man what brand I was using. I also use Gateway for my setup. Most stores should be as accomodating.
