hi all,

i'm not a newbie to computers, i've made my own for over a dozen years.
i run your normal anti-virus, firewall and spy/ad-ware progs.

I just got some nasty malware today while I was at work, I leave my computer
online all day to do the anti-virus scan/updates. I came home to 23 IE windows
open, and most were for some jag-dork "anti-virus" sites. I ran my anti-virus and
my other progs, they went right past those files, which I located with WIN EXP
For 3 hours I fought this bug, trying everything (it seems to have some hidden
files sonewhere, or HAD  )

After 3 hours of slaving, I did a yahoo search of this damned thing, got your website
and downloaded the fix, 15 minutes later, I was good as new. I want to thank RichieUK
for the plug for the quick fix! I was almost ready to pull the drive, plug it on another
computer through a usb drive to try and get rid of this beasty!

Thanks to RichieUK, and thank you all for this site!

Jim

It's good to hear that you are up and running again.
Good job!

Please check out the New User Orientation section to help get familiarized with how the board works.

There is also a really good Tutorials section that has lots of useful information.
